TORC Series Adds Second Night of Racing @ Chicagoland
INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 5, 2011) – Officials with the Traxxas TORC Series, presented by AMSOIL, announced today an added night of PRO class racing action for the event scheduled at Chicagoland Speedway leading into NASCAR’s GEICO 400 Sprint Cup race.
In addition to Wednesday, Sept. 14, TORC’s PRO 4×4, PRO 2 and PRO Light trucks will compete in another full points race on Thursday., Sept. 15, The extra night of racing will make-up for the rained-out round of racing at nearby RedBud MX (Buchanan, Mich.) earlier this summer for the PRO 4×4 and PRO 2 trucks, along with a bonus round for the PRO Lights.
“Teaming up with Chicagoland Speedway as a prelude to its GEICO 400 Sprint Cup race at will further introduce the Baja-style Traxxas TORC Series short course off-road racing that we first introduced to the NASCAR community last month at Charlotte Motor Speedway,” said Kevin Miller, President of USAC/TORC. “We’re looking forward to again hosting the NASCAR family at our September 14th and 15th rounds at Chicago and, as with any TORC event, extend our “ten dollar with your NASCAR ID” ticket deal to all the Cup, Nationwide and Camping World series teams racing in Chicago.”
