NEVADA – FS Hosting Open House on Spring Mountains NRA MVUMs

Hey Nevada trail enthusiasts!

Bob Adams from MRAN (Motorcycle Racing Association of Nevada) and member of the NV OHV Commission reminded us that the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest will be hosting an open house to get comments on the Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUM) for the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area (NRA).

These open houses are hugely important, and we encourage anyone who visits the area to attend. In 2008 the Forest Service finished a Travel Plan for the Spring Mountains NRA. This decision designated which roads and trails were open to motorized use on the Spring Mountains.

To their credit, the agency is asking for public comments and participation to identify where changes may be needed to the current Motor Vehicle Use Maps. This is your chance to see if the USFS got it right!

The open house is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Bob Ruud Community Center, 150 Hwy 160, Pahrump, Nevada.
